Going LoCo 4 FACES
Our youngest son Logan was diagnosed with epilepsy in March 2013. A brief back story is that he had his first seizure just before he was 1. It was diagnosed as something that can happen and we left it at that but always with the thought that it can happen again in the back of our minds and it did. He went seizure free for a few months and then had 2 over the course of 2 days. One of which was while he was being monitored in the hospital, which is very fortunate because his Doctors were able to watch the seizure as it occurred through video and EEG and were able to give a proper diagnosis. Since then he has been taking medicine twice a day to help keep his seizures under control and thus far it has worked. Logan is almost 2 years seizure free.
Throughout this process we have realized how fortunate Logan is to have his seizures under control with the help of great care provided by the NYU Epilepsy Center. We have been trying to find a way to help give back to the organization that has been so good to us as “thank you”.
We have created this page and have organized a benefit ride at Soul Cycle, with the hopes of raising awareness and funds to help benefit FACES (Finding a Cure for Epilepsy and Seizures). FACES is affiliated with NYU Langone Medical Center and its Comprehensive Epilepsy Center.
We would like to bring you, our community, together to help us support this great organization. So please come take a ride with us at Soul Cycle, West Village, April 16th at 8:30PM. We've raised over $10,000 last year, and this year we are hoping to raise another $10,000 through our efforts. Please contact Dara at firstname.lastname@example.org to book a bike or if you would like to make a donation please do so here.
We thank you so much for your support!
